Welcome to EyuX ("we," "our," or "us"). This application is developed by Eyuel Engida. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our AI chat application, EyuX (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

A Note on Your Data's Location: A core principle of EyuX is to maximize your privacy. Most of your data, including your API Key, chat history, saved memories, and app settings, is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. It is not uploaded to our servers.

Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways to provide and improve our service:

1. Information You Provide Directly

Google Generative AI API Key: The App requires you to provide your own Google Generative AI (Gemini) API key to function. This key is stored securely and exclusively on your device's local storage and is never transmitted to us. It is sent directly from your device to Google's servers to authorize your API requests.
Conversations: The content of your chats, including any text, questions, and responses from the AI. This history is stored on your device to allow you to view past conversations.
Personal Memories: If you ask the AI to remember specific facts about you (e.g., "My name is Alex," "My favorite hobby is hiking"), this information is saved locally on your device to personalize your future interactions. You have full control to view and delete these memories within the App's settings.
Attached Files and Images: If you attach images or documents to your messages, the content of these files is processed to be sent to the Google Generative AI API. This may include converting the file to a different format (e.g., base64) for transmission.

2. Information Sent to Third-Party Services

Google Generative AI (Gemini): To provide AI responses, the content of your messages (including text and attached files) is sent to the Google Generative AI API. Your use of this feature is subject to Google's own Privacy Policy. We strongly recommend you review it. You can find it here: https://policies.google.com/privacy

How We Use Your Information

The information we handle is used for the following purposes:

To Provide and Maintain the Service: To operate the core functionality of the AI chat, process your queries, and return responses from the AI.
To Personalize Your Experience: To use your saved "Memories" to tailor the AI's responses and make the conversation feel more natural and relevant to you.
To Manage Your App Experience: To save your chat history, selected personality, and other settings locally on your device for your convenience.
To Enable App Features: To process and send attachments to the AI, and to set schedules and reminders as you request.

Data Storage and Security

As stated, your API Key, full conversation history, saved memories, and app settings are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data. You are in control of this data and can clear it at any time from the App's settings, which will permanently delete it from your device.

While we take user privacy seriously, please be aware that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal data to outside parties, with the following exceptions:

Third-Party Service Providers: Your conversation data is shared with Google to use their Generative AI service, as described above.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

Your Choices and Rights

You have full control over the data stored by EyuX on your device. You can:

Delete Conversations: You can delete individual conversations from your history at any time.
Manage Memories: You can view, add, and delete the personal facts the AI has stored about you in the settings.
Clear All Data: You can use the "Clear All Data & Log Out" option in the settings to permanently erase all conversations, memories, schedules, and your API key from your device's storage. This action cannot be undone.

Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
